DAAD Research Ambassadors

This  programme was the continuation of the Vertrauensdozenten or DAAD Honorary Advisors programme, with some of them continuing as Research Ambassdors. The DAAD invites applications for this programme every 3-4 years The new batch will start in September 2025. The programme is not limited to India and covers Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka as well. The RAs come from STEM as well as non-STEM subject fields and support students, researchers and fellow faculty-members.

DAAD Young Ambassadors

The best people to give a message about choosing a higher education destination are the the people who ‘have been there and done that’. The Honorary Advisors were doing that, but the younger generation too could have done this very meaningfully. This was the idea behind the DAAD Young Ambassadors programme.

The YAs were not always DAAD scholarship holders but also free-movers i.e. students who had gone to Germany on their own. at times for a research stay/intership and at times for a degree. Started for India, the programme soon got extended to Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
