The first quarter of the year has seen significant momentum in Indo-German academic cooperation, with the DAAD Regional Office New Delhi playing a key role in facilitating these exchanges. In February, the DAAD supported a high-level delegation of 15 presidents and vice-presidents from Universities of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg during their visit to Pune and Mumbai. To ensure a well-informed exchange, the DAAD provided extensive briefings on the Indian higher education landscape and co-hosted one-on-one meetings with representatives from ten Indian higher education institutions, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Baden-Württemberg. Meanwhile, a delegation from Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) with more than ten members traveled to Prayagraj for in-depth discussions with their Indian partners. The DAAD also briefed these delegations, equipping them with key insights to strengthen academic ties effectively.
And the momentum continues. March will witness an even greater German academic presence in India, with the DAAD leading multiple initiatives. A delegation of senior representatives from 21 German universities, organized by the DAAD, will travel to Hyderabad and Delhi to deepen institutional partnerships. Simultaneously, more than 25 institutions will participate in the Study in Germany booth at the APAIE conference in New Delhi. Meanwhile, 20 members of the German University Consortium for International Cooperations (DHIK) will gather in Coimbatore to inaugurate the Germany School of Technology at PSG College of Technology, a project financially supported by the DAAD.
All these activities will culminate in the Indo-German Forum 2025, where the DAAD led DWIH will facilitate connections between 250 representatives of German and Indian higher education and research institutions, further reinforcing its role as a key driver of academic exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
