iHED Workshop: Internationalisation at Indian Higher Education Institutions - Structures and Services
German experts Katharina Pingel from the international office of University of Leipzig and Juliane Terpe from University of Applied Science Dresden along with team DAAD New Delhi conducted the workshops with the representatives, heads, deans of the international offices/ international relations from various Indian higher education universities from different parts of India. The workshops saw 30-35 participants at each location.
The day 1 of the workshop mainly focused on the presentation by the German experts on the German approach on the structural approach, functioning, management, tasks/services and development of international offices at small and large institutions giving an overview on the current state of such offices at German universities. The participants discussed, engaged in brainstorming, group work and presentations. They deliberated on how German models can be applicable for international offices at Indian HEIs. The day 2 of the workshops focussed on Indo-German cooperation models, management of international cooperation projects and structures to support cooperation. The second day of the workshop in Hyderabad was intertwined with a DAAD alumni meeting that was joined by DAAD and AvH alumni from the region.
