DAAD Alumni Meet: Strengthening Alumni Networks and Fostering Internationalisation in India
The two-day event kicked-off with an Alumni Meet with the aim to strenghthen alumni networks and activities within the region. The meet was officially opened by Michaela Küchler, Consul General, German Consulate Chennai, who addressed the participants with encouraging words.
The event featured a wide range of panel discussions, group activities and peer learning sessions with alumni and the alumni association Indo-German Nachkontakt Association (IGNA). Brainstorming Sessions on strengthening and fostering DAAD alumni networks by exploring ideas, innovative formats and strategies along with insights and experiences from Indo-German collaboration initiatives were exchanged. The DAAD alumni offers were introduced along with the Alumniportal Deutschland (APD) for optimal utilisation of DAAD alumni services.
The second of event took place at the University of Hyderabad where alumni joined the delegates from International Offices at Indian higher education institutions (HEIs) for a workshop focussing on Indo-German cooperation models, management of international cooperation projects and structures to support cooperation. Several brainstorming and interactive sessions were attended by alumni for developing ideas on internationalisation strategies and international cooperation project management as a part of the meet.
The DAAD alumni meet was a resounding success as it gave opportunity to establish partnerships, exchange valuable knowledge and create synergies that can greatly contribute to the growth and development of the alumni network.
